Grumbacher Matte Varnish is a final oil painting varnish for pale works and smooth paintings. Matte varnish is processed with damar varnish and bees wax and protects from atmospheric impurities. Provides a uniformly matte surface especially suited for pale "blond" works and very smooth paintings. May gray or streak dark toned or impasto paintings. Dries transparent. Wait at least 6 months after painting has dried before applying this as a final varnish. Test before applying to work. Before use, heat in warm water until clear. Apply varnish in slow, even strokes left to right. Let dry before turning work 90 degrees before re-applying. Varnish can be removed with paint thinner or other mild solvent. Made in the USA.
